Long ago, a father and son had a dream - to open a barber shop together. Barbers have a rich history in America. And the American dream of owning a business and providing for a family proved too alluring to dismiss. 

The dream was realized in 1997 when Barbers of the Lowcountry opened for business in Hilton Head Island, SC. Since that time, BOTLC grew from a small family run shop into 2 locations. It’s a place where apprentice barbers knew they could learn the art of the straight razor.

In 2014, another vision became reality when The Barber College was conceived. The Barber College maintains the same goals and standards that Barbers of the Lowcountry has demonstrated for almost 25 years. We provide a first-class environment where men and women can enjoy the old-time feel of a classic barbershop.

Located in the Heart of the Lowcountry, The Barber College provides an unparalleled experience to its students by the down home feel of the South. We then add to that mix the experience of working for a thriving barbershop, and hand-on experience that can lead to employment offers for our best students.
